Photochromic lenses are lenses that darken on exposure to specific types of light of sufficient intensity, most commonly UV radiation. In the absence of activating light the lenses return to their clear state.
AEROCLUB PHOTOCROMIC lenses are fantastic in that they can be used both during a sunny day, as well as in the evening when the sun is setting in. The only exception might be under very bright conditions, such as in Spain in August for example, when the sun is at its zenith.
